World Homoeopathy Day celebrated at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi on 9th and 10th April 2016. The event was a historic event where more than 2200 national and international delegates converged at one place to show the strength of a homoeopathic system of medicine. The event has been able to create a change in social and print media as evident from the wide coverage and 23 reputed professional Homoeopathic Associations stood united in support of this mega event. This in itself is a great Tribute to Dr Hahnemann and for the cause of Homoeopathy.

Through this event we could create waves of awareness amongst general public too, in addition to have marked a strong presence of homeopathy amongst medical fraternity. This was a historic event where India got the opportunity to host the globally acclaimed Hahnemann’s day. We were excited to showcase the best of our talent to host and make this event a grand success.

Over 2200 delegates from different parts of the world converged at one place to discuss, promote, strengthen and make homeopathy reaching to newer heights. We also witnessed some of the best brains in homeopathy exchanging knowledge and building networks.

The dais of this event was shared by our Hon’ble minister of AYUSH along with health and other ministers of India as well as Health Ministers of Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh. The representatives from LMHI international, European Council of Homeopathy and other reputed international organization deliberated their thoughts on making homeopathy as a public health system. It is in this event alone that we could sigh two memorandums of understanding with Armenia and Canada for exchanging research and homeopathic expertise.

In this event we met some of the internationally acclaimed scientists from India and abroad who shared their invaluable experience with homeopathy. These are the people who have worked day and night since decades so that the homeopathy gets a respectable space in biomedical world.

The services of the IPH was appreciated and recognised by LMHI international which was head quartered at Kothen, Germany. Dr.AltunayAgaoglu,(Turkey) Treasurer,LMHI International, presented the Institutional as well as Individual Membership certificates to Dr. B. S. Mohan, Director and Dr. D. V. Krishna Rao, Academic Director, Dr. I. SRINIVAS, Director (CME progrms) Dr. Y. Hanumantha Rao, Director, (Finance) of IPH at a function held at Kent Hall of VigyanBhavan during the World Homoeopathy Day 2016 convention , New Delhi on 10th April 2016.

Dr. Renzo Galassi,(Italy), president of LMHI international, appreciated the IPH team and requested to promote the LMHI’s individual and institutional membership in the region.

Ultimately all the members of IPH became the members of LMHI. So all the members of the IPH were issued the membership certificates. All the material and non-material advantages of the LMHI membership will be enjoyed by the IPH and its members.

World Health Organisation Traditional Medicine Strategy 2014-23 states that universal health coverage (UHC) is possible only by integrating Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) services that includes Homeopathy into the health care delivery. Presently, Homoeopathy is practiced in more than 80 countries.

Worldwide Homoeopathic fraternity celebrates the birth anniversary of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, as the World Homoeopathic Day. Dr. Hahnemann is a German Physician, who discovered the principles of Homeopathy two centuries ago and developed it as a gentle healing system of medicine. This year LigaMedicorumHomoeopathica Internationalis (LMHI), Germany based international professional body of Homeopaths, designated India to organize the International convention on World Homeopathy day at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi on 9 & 10th of April, 2016. Hon’ble Pranab Mukherjee, President of India, was invited as the chief guest and inaugurates the celebrations. But due to unavoidable situations he could not attend the celebrations.

The theme of the Convention is "Integrating Homoeopathy in Health Care". It deliberates on the existing scenario of Homeopathy in India and other countries. Develops strategies for formulating national policies; strengthening the existing base of safety, quality and effectiveness. It also discusses on high quality medical education, Interdisciplinary and international research co-operations, evidence based clinical practice and to promote appropriate integration of Homoeopathy into health care system in different countries to achieve UHC.

LMHI and Ministry of AYUSH (GoI) are the main organisers of the convention. Various International and national experts like, Dr Renzo Galassi (Italy), Dr Goldan Isaac (Australia), Dr Peter Fisher (United Kingdom),Prof. Carla Holandino (Brazil), Dr MarusaHribar (Slovenia), Dr Martin Heidgger (Israel), Dr Lex Rutten (Netherlands), Dr Thomas Peinbauer (Austria), Dr RonkoItamura (Japan), Dr Altunay (Turkey), and Mr JayeshBellare, Dr S K Tiwari, Dr KeyurMajmundar, Dr N Radha , Dr B M Hegde, Dr Surjit Singh Makker, Dr M K Sahani, Dr RajanShankaran, Dr JaswantPatil, Dr Kamal Kantiof India and many more..... along with acclaimed supporters of Homoeopathy will be sharing their views. The program will be webcasted for wider dissemination.

Various National Professional Institutions, Associations like Central Council of Homoeopathy (CCH), Central Council of Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) and other 22 national level Homoeopathic organisations including Amalapuram based Institute of Practicing Homoeopathy (IPH) of Andhra Pradesh, are supporting the event.

Institute of Practicing Homoeopathy (IPH) is a non-profit, self-funded, voluntary academic organization founded in 2003 by Post Graduate Homoeopathic Physicians of Andhra Pradesh to promote high standards in clinical practice of Homoeopathy etc. IPH has been working based on the 2nd recommendation published in its Health Report 1999 of World Health Organisation (WHO) to adopt Homoeopathy in public health care.

I am glad to inform that as a part of arrangements, Dr. B. S. MOHAN, a Homeopathic Consultant from Amalapuram (AP) and Director of Institute of Practicing Homoeopathy (IPH) has been nominated as a member in Organising committee of the forthcoming International Convention. Earlier in 2011, Dr. B. S. Mohan presented a scientific paper at World Homoeopathic Conference, New Delhi. He was also graced with the Konaseema’s prestigious Rotary Club - MD VARMA Vocational award for serving the community with exemplary higher ethics in 2012 and state level Best Doctor Award in 2014.

A scientific research paper titled “ The Prescription – Most neglected clinical document in Homoeopathic practice” authored by Dr. B. S. Mohan of Amalapuram, was accepted and selected for the presentation at the International convention.Dr. D. V. Krishna Rao of Vijayawada, Dr. I. Srinivas of Narsaraopeta, Dr. Y. Hanumantha Rao of Visakhapatnam were co-authored the paper. It will be presented on 9th April, 2016 at Kent Hall of the VigyanBhavan, New Delhi.

Another physician, Dr. D. V. KRISHNA RAO of Vijayawada, Academic Director, of Institute of Practicing Homoeopathy (IPH) has also been nominated as member, Reception committee of the International Convention.
